INOBAT is the Swiss recycling system for batteries. On behalf of the Federal Office for the Environment FOEN, INOBAT collects, manages and uses the prepaid disposal fee that consumers pay with the purchase price of batteries and rechargeable batteries. INOBAT uses the prepaid disposal fee to finance the collection, transportation and recycling of used batteries and to raise awareness of the issue among retailers and the general public.
