SUMMARY:COMSOL Webinar: Why Model and Simulate Batteries?
DESCRIPTION:The COMSOL® software offers a range of capabilities for building detailed models of battery cells and packs\, capturing phenomena such as electrochemistry\, species transport\, heat transfer\, fluid flow\, and structural mechanics. Engineers and researchers can access a unique environment for running thermal analyses of battery systems\, accounting for heating due to activation losses\, Joule heating\, conjugate heat transfer\, nonisothermal flow\, and other coupled phenomena. \nIn this webinar\, we will give an overview of the functionality that COMSOL Multiphysics® offers for battery design and thermal analysis\, including thermal runaway. We will demonstrate these capabilities using models at both the battery cell and battery pack levels. \nSign up to tune in live or get notified when the recording is available: https://www.comsol.com/c/hlw1

SUMMARY:iBAT Battery Tuesday Batrec Industrie AG
DESCRIPTION:Details\nThe upcoming Networking Event Series – iBAT Battery Tuesdays presents Batrec Industrie AG \nDate and time: Tuesday\, September 3 16.00 – 17. 00 \nSpeaker: Philipp Rädecker\, Head of battery recycling \nBatrec Industrie AG was founded in the 1990s to offer a solution for the recycling of batteries. Collection\, transport and recycling are coordinated by Inobat. \nThe material arrives in drums and is sorted by trained personnel into different fractions according to cell chemistry and size. The majority of batteries (household batteries – alkaline and ZnC) are processed pyrometallurgically. With increasing mobility and electrification\, the proportion of LIBs is increasing. In order to recycle this material as well\, a two-stage mechanical process has been developed to generate fractions that can be fed back into the material cycles. A mechanical separation plant was commissioned for this purpose in November 2023. \nTopics: \n\nChallenges in recycling of LIBs – sorting\, storing and recycling\nProcess of LIB recycling at Batrec Industrie AG\nOutlook and future development

SUMMARY:iBAT Battery Tuesday Battronics AG
DESCRIPTION:Details\nThe upcoming Networking Event Series – iBAT Battery Tuesdays presents Battronics AG \nDate and time: Tuesday\, March 5 16.00 – 17. 00 \nSpeaker: Dr. Michael Hess\, CEO \nBattronics AG is a company doing \n\nBattery Tech and Patent Analysis\nAging Analysis\nCost and market analysis\n\nPresentation will be on topic 2: Data evaluation of battery aging matrices is very time consuming as tests from different SoC\, Temp\, DoD and C-rates have to be evaluated. We show how this can be facilitated by online based automatic aging analysis which is also used for physics & ML-based aging prediction to judge remaining battery life. \nTopics: \n\nAging analysis of Li-ion batteries\nTesting matrices\nIPCEI & European value chain
