SUMMARY:iBAT Battery Tuesday LEM International SA
DESCRIPTION:On the first Tuesday of each month\, research members of iBAT present their competencies and infrastructure in a one-hour online event. After the presentation\, short questions can be asked – for further information\, the iBAT office or the research institutes can be contacted directly. \nSpeaker: Emil Namor\, Senior electronics engineer\, LEM International SA \nLEM International SA – Current measurement for battery systems\, today and tomorrow\nCurrent sensor are fundamental components for battery management systems\, providing a key input for functions such as state of charge estimation or overcurrent detection. LEM is a leading supplier of current sensors for automotive battery systems\, having achieved outstanding accuracy and stability with its Hall-effect-based sensors. In this presentation\, we describe how our latest open-loop Hall effect sensors meet today’s automotive requirements and we discuss the implication on the current sensing function of trends in battery technology. \nTopics: \n\nLEM company presentation\nOverview of LEM current sensors for battery systems\nTrends in battery systems and their relation to current measurement specifications

SUMMARY:iBAT Battery Tuesday Stat Peel
DESCRIPTION:Monitoring exposure to harmful airborne particles: Stat Peel\nIn this talk we will show how airborne particle contamination in laboratory and production facilities can pose a hard to quantify risk to employees and products. \nTopics\nStat Peel is a manufacturer of a material-selective aerosol detection system which uses a high-sensitivity Raman spectrometer\, to monitor and measure employee and facility exposure to potentially harmful airborne particles. \nThe use of novel but potentially hazardous advanced materials in cell research\, production and recycling can expose employees to harmful aerosols. Today’s standard aerosol measurement tools can’t distinguish those airborne particles from less dangerous ones\, but Stat Peel’s Identifier can. The material-selective Identifier allows H&S officers or operations managers to monitor specific levels of airborne particles of interest like CNTs\, graphene or different metal oxides among the many harmless background particles. \nSign up for the Webinar
